Diesel powered forklifts trucks are ideal for outdoor applications. Typical work environments are supermarkets, logistic centers, construction sites, production and outgoing goods.
Diesel forklifts are not designed to run indoors all day long. The reason for this is the noise, pollution and the emission of exhaust gases. Exhaust catalysts and purifiers can reduce noxious emissions and make the diesel forklift acceptable for occasional indoor use. With a lifting capacity of between 1.5 and 8 tons, the diesel forklift outperforms the electric forklift in terms of power and lifting capacity. Diesel-powered forklifts can be refueled quickly. This is a significant advantage over electric forklifts which have to spend more time during battery charging. The operation of the internal combustion engine with diesel is reliable and fuel-efficient. The tank system is integrated in the diesel forklift. In addition, diesel promises cost advantages over gasoline or LPG (propane / LPG) powered forklifts. On the other hand diesel forklifts are noisier in operation. Their size is usually bigger which means they need more space in operation. Usually size and noise are no problem at all, using the diesel forklift outside. The initial purchase price is less than an electric forklift but usually slightly above an LPG powered forklift.
With a wide selection of attachments, the diesel forklift becomes a flexible all-round player for outdoor material handling applications. Diesel forklifts are available in different lifting heights.
